What this is, and what it is not
This is education, not financial advice
Projections are not predictions
Every forward-looking number on this site is the output of a model running on assumptions you can change. Those assumptions will be wrong — the question is only by how much and in which direction. Treat the range of outcomes as the answer, never the midpoint.
Past performance does not indicate future results. The historical data here is US-only and covers the strongest major equity market of the last century, which makes it an optimistic base case rather than a neutral one.
What we cannot see
We do not know your tax position, your jurisdiction's account rules, your insurance cover, your property, your health, your partner's finances, or any business you own. Any of these can reasonably reorder the plan we generate.
We do not connect to your bank or verify anything you enter. The outputs are only as good as the inputs, and we cannot tell when a figure is wrong.
When to talk to a professional
A qualified, regulated adviser is worth seeking out for anything involving a complex tax position, estate planning, a business sale, divorce, inheritance, or a decision large enough that getting it wrong would be hard to recover from.
If you are in serious debt difficulty, free regulated debt advice services exist in most countries and are a better first call than any calculator, including ours.
Our methodology page lists every assumption and data source, so you can judge for yourself where the numbers come from.
